Women Talk Sci Fi
Women Talk Sci Fi is an Australian podcast and as the name suggests is a Podcast about the science fiction television and movie industry. We are Gerri Donaldson and Eugenia Stopyra two Sci Fi Geeks who decided that they loved talking about their passion and that just maybe others would be interested in what we said about our passion. We commenced broadcasting in 2009 with one of the best starts that any genre podcast could have. We participated in the World Premiere of Star Trek (the reboot) with interviews from J.J. Abrams, Christopher Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock) and John Cho (Sulu). Hoyts cinemas saw our potential at the time and offered us a promotional link on their website for 12 months. This allowed our podcast to generate interest in the Sci Fi community and the podcast to grow. Since 2009 Women Talk Sci Fi has been able to interview many iconic current and retro television and movie actors that has allowed the podcast to surpass our expectations.
Women Talk Sci Fi episodes are released approximately every 3 weeks. It is an interview podcast with many interviews from actors and others from the industry. The concept that we follow is a discussion about a particular show/movie and then an interview with an industry member who has participated with that project. We have a wide knowledge of the genre and discuss not only the show, actors and storylines but also on where we feel the inspiration for the show comes from drawing on topics from history, science, current affairs and popular culture. We feel that humour (but not too much) gets our message across and our passion for the shows, actors, storylines and social commentary is represented in the episodes.
However, what the podcast is about is fun and enjoyment and Sci Fi and Fantasy and more and we hope that our listeners will feel the same way! Feel free to contact us and let us know what you think, offer suggestions, record something and send us an MP3.
Thanks for listening to us.
