Farscape, what a show? How many of you have watched this Australian show? Well, Gerri and Eugenia are proud to say “Made in Australia”, this is a show that breaks the mould in the use of Muppets! Well not Muppets but animatronics, done so well that you actually see the characters as real and find that you invest them with feeling and reality and the show is full of fun, suspense and damn good action! We had black and white, red and blue skin, tentacles coming from the head and even a ship that was a sentient being!   Jim Henson’s Creature workshop was able to create characters that were multi-layer as well as a few “nut-jobs”, action heroes and some more really, really nutjobs! In this podcast Gerri and Eugenia get to talk with one of the actors from the series none other than Gigi Edgley who played Chiana, the black and white alien who may be classed as one of the nutjobs! Gigi now hosts Brian Henson’s show, “Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge” where you get to see how animatronics are made and used in movies and TV. Gerri and Eugenia would like to thank Gigi for the interview, catch her at her website www.gigiedgley.com, Facebook https://www.facebook.com/gigiedgley.fanpage?fref=ts and on twitter @GigiEdgley.

There have been many who have taken on the role of Doctor Who and say that the eighth Doctor was the one that killed off the series. Although a hit in the UK it did not make it in the US and did not progress to a series as was hoped. This showing of the Doctor introduced some new concepts of the Doctor and his first kiss on screen and caused many a discussion in the Whovian universe, was the Doctor half human, should he kiss his companion, was he above all of this? The human bit did not survive but by heck the kissing did!!!   In this episode Gerri and Eugenia discuss all of the above and have a special treat for all Whovians. They have the eighth Doctor and his companion. Paul McGann and Daphne Ashbrook in a rare joint interview, discussing the movie, how it was made and how they felt about the movie, their expectations and all the whys and whats at the time! Gerri and Eugenia would like to thank Scott Liston from First Contact Conventions www.firstcontactconventions.com.au for the opportunity to have an interview with both of the stars of this iconic movie.

Every now and again a show comes along that is a little bit different! Sometimes it is the premise or sometimes it is innovation with new technology, Sanctuary was ground breaking in that it sought input from the Sci Fi community before the show was even aired and then was released for free on YouTube before being picked up by the then Sci Fi, now Syfy channel. In this episode Eugenia and Gerri talk about what they thought of the innovations that came with this show, the interesting Canadian texture that was brought to the show and what it takes in the 21st Century for a show to make it on TV! They interview Ryan Robbins, who plays Henry Foss, the geeky tech wiz and a Lycanthrope. Ryan has been in many Sci Fi and Fantasy shows, he has an impressive IMDB. Eugenia and Gerri would like to thank Oz Comic Con www.ozcomiccon.com and Blue Planet PR www.blueplanetpr.com.au for the interview with Ryan.

The Sword, Arrow and Armour - Mark Ryan, Alfie Allen, Tom Hopper

Podcast102-TheSwordArrowAndArmour.mp3

In this episode Eugenia and Gerri talk about the hero! Heroes such as Robin Hood and King Arthur ignite our imagination allowing us to take part in stories where “might” is fought and good wins! Stories such as these have inspired us for thousands of years and television and film, have since their invention given us many interpretations of these stories! Eugenia and Gerri talk about the variations over the years and how film and program makers can at times sanitise history and the violence, this may be fairly serious subject, but they don’t talk about it for long because they have three interviews from such shows with Alfie Allen, Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones, Tom Hopper, Sir Percival From Merlin and Mark Ryan from Robin of Sherwood, armour, swords and arrows who could want more? They would like to thank Daniel and Lionel from www.supanova.com.au  www.lionelmidfordpublicity.com  for Tom and Alfie and www.armageddonexpo.com/nz/  for Mark’s interview.

Podcast101-CowabungaItsABlast-DebiRobRodger.mp3

We all remember Saturday morning when we watched cartoons! Our parents happy we were occupied and able to get a sleep in! Cartoons have played a big part in the entertainment that we remember from our youth and of course many of us tried to do the voices of those characters we love! How many can do the Woody the woodpecker laugh or the Bugs Bunny’s “What’s up Doc” and more. Well in this podcast Gerri and Eugenia talk about what has become the branch of acting that they are most enamoured with “voice acting”! Gerri and Eugenia always say that when the interview these actors it feels like they are interviewing a roomful, of the funny, entertaining and talented! In this episode they have again three of what maybe some of the most famous voices from your favourite cartoons, Sponge Bob, Jimmy Neutron and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These are of course Debi Derryberry, the voice of Jimmy, Rodger Bumpass, the voice of Squidward Tentacles and Rob Paulsen the voice of the original Raphael and now Donatello in the latest incarnation of the show! Cowabunga Dude. They would like to thank Oz Comic Con www.ozcomiccon.com for their interviews with Debi Derryberry and Rob Paulsen (who also does a podcast called “Talkin Toons” www.robpaulsenlive.com check it out!) and Culture Shock Events www.cultureshockevents.com for the interview with Rodger Bumpass. Arrow's Friend and Foe - Manu Bennett

Podcast99-ArrowsFriendAndFoe-ManuBennett.mp3

Has Sci Fi finally made it into the mainstream? In this episode Gerri and Eugenia talk about the Arrow. This show is about a human superhero, no special super powers, showing us what commitment and effort can achieve. With the newest incarnation being very dark and a flashback in each episode we have the past and the future of what makes and what happens when a superhero takes on the world. Arrow’s interesting characters with some of them even female, strong, purposeful and funny with one as the geek and the other The Black Canary. One thing that is nice to see in this show for Gerri and Eugenia is the Australian accent! In this episode they have an interview with Manu Bennett, otherwise known as Slade, done just before Manu took on the role. Born in New Zealand, grown in Australia (it is just across the pond) they claim him anyway! Thanks to Culture shock events, www.cultureshockevents.com for allowing Gerri and Eugenia to interview Manu.
